Let’s get the idea.

Here’s how it works

Build a number from hundreds, tens and ones.

What we’re exploring

  • reading and writing numbers up to a thousand
  • jumping 10 or 100 more or less
  • what happens when the hundreds click over

Zero keeps an empty place safe.

LET’S WORK ONE OUT TOGETHER

A little example

Write four hundred and six in digits.

  1. 1

    Four hundreds are 400.

  2. 2

There are no tens, so put 0 in the tens place.

  3. 3

    Six ones give 406.

Make a little room for your workings.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN

Have a little go.

Four questions. Plenty of thinking space.
Use paper, then add photos of your workings.

Your pace. Your way. ↘

When should we tell you if your answers are right?

You can’t change an answer or its photos after you submit it. You also can’t change when you see your results once you start.
