Inside the hour
60min

Reading & phonics
Decoding, fluency and, above all, starting to like books.
- Phonics never quite clicked and the gap to classmates is growing.
- They guess at words, skip lines, or avoid reading aloud at all costs.
- 'I hate reading' has become part of how they see themselves.
No pressure and no reading-aloud ambushes. Tutors build trust first; the reading follows.
Pick and mix

An hour doesn't have to be one thing. These often sit alongside it: mix a few, change them any time.
How SEND tutoring works

Tell us what you'd like the hours to do
A short, friendly enquiry: your child, your postcode, and what you'd like the hours to cover. We check we can serve your area and hand-pick a vetted, Enhanced-DBS SEND tutor who actually fits. And we're honest if we don't have the right person near you yet.

Your tutor comes to you
One hour, one-to-one, at your home. Sessions are booked around family life: after school, weekends, school holidays. No centre, no travel, no waiting room, just your child at their own kitchen table with someone who gets them.

You hear how it went, every visit
After each hour you get the honest picture: what they worked on, what landed, and what's coming next. And because it's pick and mix, you can change what the hours cover whenever your child needs something different.
Ready when you are

Common questions
Which phonics scheme do you follow?
The tutor works alongside whatever scheme your child's school uses, so nothing taught at home contradicts the classroom. What changes is the pace and the way in.
My child is 10 and still can't read properly. Is it too late?
No. Older children often move faster than anyone expects once the gaps are found and filled without an audience. No reading aloud in front of a class, just the two of them.
How much does it cost?
£60 an hour online, or £80 an hour in person at your home, and that's the whole price: no registration fee, no agency mark-up, no minimum number of sessions. You pay for the hours you use.
Who are the tutors?
Vetted UK SEND tutors: qualified teachers and specialists chosen for how they work with children like yours. Everyone holds a current Enhanced DBS, verified with the issuer, with qualifications checked against the awarding body before they can take a family.
Do you cover my area?
Tell us where you are when you enquire. We'll be honest straight away if we don't have the right tutor near you yet, rather than matching you with whoever happens to be closest.
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No. Tell us what you're seeing in your own words. Tutors work from how your child actually learns, not from a label.
