The research behind it
This responsive-feeding approach is informed by the research behind the division of responsibility model (Satter), food chaining and sensory desensitisation stages drawn from SOS-informed practice. It is adapted and coached 1:1 by an occupational therapist, with no claim that we deliver an accredited or trademarked programme.
How we'll know it worked
You set a baseline in session 1, use 30-second weekly check-ins, then see the before and after side by side at the final session: whether the accepted-foods list has grown and mealtimes feel calmer. Your written outcome summary also becomes evidence for school meetings and EHCP paperwork.
- Your accepted-foods list from session 1, counted again at the end.
- Your weekly mealtime stress rating, from 1 to 10.
- Two or three goals in your own words, scored from 0 to 10 before and after.
Is this for me?
Your child eats only a handful of familiar foods, often the same colour, texture or brand.
When one food drops off the list, it rarely comes back.
Meals have become a daily standoff, with pressure and worry on both sides.
Bribes, persuasion or hiding vegetables have made things harder rather than easier.
School lunches, parties or meals at grandparents' leave you planning around food.
Holidays and unfamiliar packaging can mean there is nothing your child will eat.
Would one online conversation with an occupational therapist feel like enough for now? Sensory & everyday-skills support, 45 minutes for £80 fits better.

Vetted before they ever meet your child

This is specialist guidance for parents, not diagnosis or treatment. Session 1 always screens for anything that needs your GP, NHS or CAMHS first, and we tell you straight away if it does.
Common questions
What if it does not work for us?
There are no guaranteed outcomes. At the final session, your occupational therapist will say plainly if your goals were not met and help route you to a different programme or specialist, a discounted top-up block if more time may help, or a written GP or CAMHS referral summary if the need is clinical.
Who comes to the sessions, and are they online?
The parent sessions are online video calls without your child. In week 5, your occupational therapist comes to your home for a real mealtime with your child there, and speech and language input is available if needed.
What if I am worried about ARFID or my child's health?
Session 1 screens for weight loss, nutritional red flags and suspected ARFID, and routes these to the GP and dietitian pathway. This is specialist guidance for parents, not diagnosis or treatment, and it runs alongside medical care, never instead of it.
Will you make my child eat new foods?
No. There is no forcing or bribing: you take the pressure off and try small sensory steps from foods your child already accepts.
