The research behind it

This programme is informed by the research behind the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice 2015, and the First-tier Tribunal (SEND) process and its published statistics. Those statistics consistently show that the large majority of appeals parents pursue succeed or are conceded before the hearing, with preparation and strong evidence common to those cases, but no outcome is guaranteed. This is specialist guidance for parents, not legal representation and not diagnosis or treatment.

How we'll know it worked

The appeal grounds and provision sought, set in your own words in session 1, become the yardstick for the outcome. Success means securing that provision through a decision or a settlement before the hearing.

  • The outcome against the appeal grounds you set in session 1.
  • How much of the provision you asked for was secured.
  • Whether a settlement before the hearing delivered the provision sought.
  • A post-hearing check that the order is implemented, recorded in a written summary you keep.

Is this for me?

The clock is running

Your refusal or final plan has arrived and you have decided to appeal.

You need to register within two months of the decision letter, or one month of the mediation certificate.

The paperwork is mounting

Your appeal is under way, reports are piling up and you cannot tell what will carry weight.

The LA has sent a working document, or you are trying to make sense of what belongs in the hearing bundle.

The hearing is ahead

You want to know who will say what, what the panel may ask and whether your bundle holds up.

Want the whole pathway? The full programme runs to 6 sessions, starting with these three sessions. See the full programme fits better.

This is specialist guidance for parents, not diagnosis or treatment. Session 1 always screens for anything that needs your GP, NHS or CAMHS first, and we tell you straight away if it does.

Common questions

Is three sessions enough?

For a lot of families, yes. Each session ends with clear next steps, and plenty of parents find three focused sessions with one specialist is what they needed. You can stop there with nothing else to pay.

Can I go on to the full programme afterwards?

Yes. The full programme is 6 sessions and starts with these same three, so tell us you have done the starter and we will set up just the remaining sessions with the same specialist, priced as a programme.

Do I need a diagnosis first?

No. Tell us what you are seeing in your own words. Your specialist works from how your child actually is, not from a label.
